Rocket Sled!

As many VL members know I've been working on a new moc that will briefly be at the Empress Festival of Trees, but will be at future shows as well.

It's a 3x (or Triplo ) scale version of the 1981 set 6801 Rocket Sled

The theme of this year's event is 3x so I made a bunch of Triplo bricks to start with to get the feel of the scale:

I saw a colour variation on the net and was already thinking it would be fun to make a little fleet of them so...

I've made the walky talky and gun ( not pictured yet ) and still have to polish off the fig.

It's more or less done with the fig now, though I will probably do more tweaking. I'll take better pics of it all later, but this will give you a quick idea

I'm possibly a bit obsessed.

New gun design ( not that I posted the old gun design ) suggested by Rod. The big difference is the handle is a tube instead of a plate. I was using the modified clip with 2 rings to make the t-joint but that resulted in a plate handle. Rod's great suggestion was to use the actual gun that was being modelled! Made for a very meta meta situation, and a perfect solution.

I've already boiled down the logo to just 3 parts ( hoho! ) and will inevitably do more tinkering.

Made changes to arms and legs that I'm pretty happy with, much more stable and closer to being on model.
