10190 Market Street Available
Hi everyone,
Market Street is now available on S@H. $129.99CAD or $89.99. Very unfair - 89 bucks is under 100 Canadian!
As with the Cafe Corner, we're expected to pay $30 more - Even worse this time, because it's at a lower price point.
Say goodbye to your money,
-John.

It was designed by a fellow Ambassador, Eric Brok - Hence the unusual AFOL style elements with it. I think some of the builds like the ones you mentioned, the skis on the Cafe Corner, etc., are ones that LEGO deems neither legal or illegal - They're so unusual they never considered them, so we get away with them!

Seems kind of stupid to price so dramatically differently.
It is impossible to develop a Canadian market if you are consistently charging 30 to 40% higher in Canada.
How do you expect to get people buying?
That is why MB was able to make such big inroads into the market.
All this being said, who do we know in the US who could buy and ship. I bet it would still be cheaper than buying form Lego.
How many do we rally want - about 20
End Rant.
Bert.
P.S 89.99 USD = 96.0147 CAD currently.
P.P.S. perhaps it would be worth a road trip to Seattle or Bellingham, if there is a place to buy.

Hi Bert,
I have a lot of friends & contacts in the US, but I don't think they'd be willing to buy a number of them for us, unfortunately.
I hope to go to Seattle sometime during the summer, visit the LEGO store, etc...and Steve and I will be near a LEGO store this summer, too. Perhaps if you guys didn't care about the boxes, sets could be condensed...within reason.
I completely agree about the pricing. I've heard claims that they're trying to even things out, but it definitely hasn't happened yet.

What we need is a really awesome toy store in Port Angeles. Walk on the Coho, pick up an order and walk back on for the return.bannear wrote: P.P.S. perhaps it would be worth a road trip to Seattle or Bellingham, if there is a place to buy.
I know I am already starting to plan my purchases in conjunction with NWBrickCon on the Thanksgiving weekend in Seattle. Even without discounts or specials from the Con the prices are unbeatable in Canada.
Think Xmas!

I wish the LEGO company wouldn't waffle on getting the prices figured out properly. John, do something!!!
It's not the same as publishing companies that are screwing us by printing outdated pricing right on the books.
I'm surprised that with as much heat that Lego is probably receiving that they haven't got onto this one already.

Just thought I would add a note that I saw on Bricklink:
"i just wanted to let you all know that Eric Brok, designer of set 10190 and
many more moc's past away last monday."

Sad to lose a brilliant designer.
